The Hong Kong Green Shop Alliance Award (HKGSA Award), the-first-of-its-kind in Hong Kong, was established in 2019 to promote the collaborative efforts of shopping malls and shops in fostering a green shopping environment, and to recognise their achievements on environment protection. Through the sharing of various environmental case studies, participants are able to exchange ideas and develop new best practices for the retail industry.

The Government of the HKSAR has set a target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. This push for net-zero is driving businesses to act responsibly to reduce their carbon footprint in their business strategies and daily operations. Carbon Neutrality has therefore been chosen as the theme for the 3rd edition of the HKGSA Award to recognise practitioners’ outstanding performance to reduce their carbon emissions at every stage from strategic planning to operation. It is our sincere hope that through the HKGSA Award, the entire industry will benefit from participants’ far-sighted decarbonisation strategies and innovative ideas.
