Shun Tak Centre – Encouraging Sustainable Consumption and Resource Circulation Awareness among Customers Fashion is a pivotal aspect of our lives, influencing how we express ourselves and interact with the world. In early summer 2024, Shun Tak Centre collaborated with Redress to host its innovative "Upcycling Fashion Show”. This unique event aimed to promote a circular fashion industry, empower designers, and educate customers to mitigate the negative impact of clothing production and consumption on the environment. In addition to educating tenants and visitors on responsible consumption and the environmental benefits of choosing eco-friendly fashion, the event helped to inspire sustainable practices and carbon footprint reduction, and encouraged designers to explore sustainable practices and materials, fostering innovative ways to repurpose second-hand clothing.
Unlike ordinary activities that focus on environmental advocacy, this event achieved something even more important: demonstrating the economic viability of elevating second-hand clothing through creative transformations and marketing the concept as a sustainable business model. This year, Shun Tak Group will deepen its collaboration with Redress, extending the partnership to Shun Tak Centre and The Westwood to promote this critical sustainability issue. Through this enhanced collaboration, it aims to create even greater value for the community and the environment. |
