Submission Details

General Points to Note: 
  • All entrants are required to submit case studies of the environmental practices or projects implemented in their mall(s) or shop(s) within the period from 1 July 2022 to 30 September 2023. Case studies are expected to focus on environmental measures that transcend current industry practices.  
  • Case studies which have been submitted for previous editions of the HKGSA Award should not be re-submitted UNLESS there have been significant enhancements during the period stated above. 
  •  All cases should be submitted via the Online Submission Form. Submission deadline is 6:00pm, 5 October 2023 (Thursday).
  • Award submissions are FREE of charge.


Submission Details by Category:

Green Mall/ Shop of the Year

Submission Content

  • Each submission is required to describe green measures in at least THREE aspects or above of the Six Green Aspects under HKGSA’s key environmental performance pledge.
  • Content of the Six Green Aspects may include the following:
    • Implementation of operational measures
    • Demonstration of leadership and strategic planning
    • Supply chain management
    • Installation of facilities in-mall/ in-shop
    • Launch of initiatives or programmes to support tenants and/or shoppers to implement the Six Green Aspects
    • Provision of green products/ services
    • Other relevant measures
  • Entries should also demonstrate and explain how ONE of the Six Green Aspects outperforms other industry practitioners.

  • Max. 300 words in English or 200 words in Chinese

Description for each Green Aspect (required to answer at least 3 in 6)

  • Max. 200 words in English or 150 words in Chinese

Elaboration on of ONE Pioneering Green Aspect

Collaborative Project of the Year

Submission Content

Each entry should describe one project of the year related to i) Circular Economy, or ii) Behavioural Change that demonstrates outstanding collaboration or partnership with other stakeholders and which has achieved a significant environmental and social impact
 

Guiding Questions

Circular Economy Project 

  • Who is the project’s target audience?

 

  • What are the project’s goals and how did the project achieve them?

 

  • How is the project related to the development of a circular economy?

 

  • What creative or innovative elements has the project demonstrated?

 

  • How has the project enhanced resource efficiency and delivered material savings?

 

  • What are the quantifiable and long-term environmental and social impacts that demonstrate the success of the project?

Behavioural Change Project

  • Who is the project’s target audience?

 

  • What environmental issue did this project aim to address or advocate, and how did the project achieve this?

 

  • How does this project differ from conventional marketing campaigns?

 

  • What behaviours were observed before and after the project?

 

  • What creative or innovative elements has the project demonstrated?

 

  • What are the quantifiable and long-term environmental and social impacts that demonstrate the success of the project?

  • Max. 500 words in English or 350 words in Chinese

Explanation of Collaboration Details

Supplementary Materials (Optional):
  • A maximum of five (5) photos in jpeg format, with file size within 3MB each, resolution of 350 dpi or above
  • A video within five (5) minutes in length.
