Olympian City – Promoting Green Living through Diverse Eco-friendly Initiatives

“RE: Tai Kok Tsui” Pavilion

In collaboration with the Hong Kong Arts Centre, Olympian City has developed a new cultural landmark, the “RE: Tai Kok Tsui - Urban Living Lab”. This Pavilion blends eco-friendly bamboo materials and innovative bamboo construction techniques with Tai Kok Tsui’s traditional heritage. The seating area adjacent to the Pavilion, designed to offer additional leisure space, was constructed using EcoBricks made from upcycled plastic waste. The venue regularly hosts art and environmental activities, fostering cultural exchange and promoting sustainability education.

Panda Green Hub

The Mall has established the Panda Green Hub, which encourages reuse through book exchanges and organises recycling activities for toys, stationery, and board games. These initiatives have been well received by nearby residents and are complemented by workshops and seminars that further enhance public environmental awareness.

Smart Recycling Equipment

In partnership with the Environmental Protection Department, the Mall has established 24-hour smart recycling facilities, enabling the public to recycle conveniently at any time. Recycling services for plastics and polystyrene are also provided to tenants, with collected materials upcycled into eco-bricks, barrier covers, and other products, thus supporting the circular economy.

AI Air-conditioning System

To improve energy efficiency, Olympian City has introduced the AI-based WATER Intellivisor Chiller Plant Optimiser. Using data collected by IoT sensors together with big data analysis and automated remote control, the system optimises chiller plant operations to ensure a comfortable shopping environment while significantly reducing energy consumption.
