Flame at Towngas Avenue – Thinking Green at Every Step

Flame at Towngas Avenue, a restaurant operated by Towngas, is committed to serving green and healthy flame-cooked cuisine.

In response to the pandemic, it swiftly implemented new measures to protect its staff and customers. For instance, it was the first restaurant in Hong Kong to apply RAZE nano photocatalytic long-lasting disinfectant, and the waiters wear aprons with a biotech coating that kills over 99.9% of coronaviruses and bacteria. For customers arriving by car, the service team also delivers food directly to customers’ cars to further reduce exposure and the possibility of infection.

To echo Towngas’ commitments to innovation and environmental protection, Flame at Towngas Avenue adopts a strict green purchasing policy, with guidelines to select qualified suppliers with environmental certifications. Wherever possible, the restaurant likewise chooses local ingredients to reduce energy loss and carbon emissions during transportation.

This emphasis on ecological stewardship extends to the purchase of organic fresh vegetables from retailers accredited by the Vegetable Management Office (VMO). By avoiding vegetables grown with pesticides and chemical fertilisers, the restaurant is playing its part to minimise detrimental effects on the environment. All seafood is also sourced on a sustainable basis in accordance with the World Wide Fund for Nature (“WWF”) Seafood Guide and accredited by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). Moreover, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by the livestock industry, the restaurant collaborates with Green Monday to include OmniPork and Beyond Meat in the dishes of its a la carte menu.
