Hong Kong Green Shop Alliance Award 2024 Recognise Shopping Malls and Shops’ Outstanding Green Performance

The Hong Kong Green Shop Alliance Award 2024 Presentation Ceremony was held successfully at the JC Cube, Tai Kwun on 10 December 2024. Over 100 honourable guests and representatives from shopping malls and shops were brought together to share the joyful moments. Congratulations again to the winning shopping malls and shops, and heartfelt gratitude to all participating organisations for fostering greener shopping environment in Hong Kong!

The HKGSA Award marks its fifth edition this year. In addition to the regular commendation on the industry’s green stories, a new award named “Excellent Green Practices Award”, focusing on waste management, was introduced this year to recognise the efforts of shopping malls and shops in waste reduction and support the Government's waste reduction and recycling initiatives.

To promote industry exchange and collaboration, Ir Prof. Steve WONG, Chairman of the Environment & Sustainability Committee of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, shared valuable insights on sustainable business strategies in the retail sector at a special session titled "Balancing Green Together". Additionally, representatives from the winning organisations, including Chow Sang Sang, Towngas Cooking Centre, Tai Po Mega Mall, Times Square, Link Real Estate Investment Trust and Citywalk, also engaged in discussions on their sustainable retail operations to share best green practices with other industry practitioners for mutual learning.
