Powering Collaboration for Energy Efficiency in Retail
Organised by the HKGBC and funded by the CIC, the Hong Kong Green Shop Alliance (HKGSA) is pleased to launch a series of Capacity Building Workshops exclusively for HKGSA Members. These Workshops are designed to deepen Members’ understanding of emerging sustainability trends in the retail sector, covering topics such as energy and water saving, waste reduction and green procurement. Ultimately, these initiatives aim to enhance environmental performance across the industry and better prepare Members for the forthcoming HKGSA Award in 2026.

The first workshop, “Powering Collaboration for Energy Efficiency in Retail”, was held on 24 Oct 2025 (Fri). This session aimed to empower industry practitioners with knowledge-based energy management strategies and explore both technical and financial approaches to energy efficiency, which covered:
  • Collaboration strategies between malls and tenants on retro-commissioning (RCx)
  • Utilising existing funding schemes to drive energy efficiency improvements
  • Improving air-conditioning systems in daily operation and maintenance
  • Energy-efficient lighting solutions for malls and shopfronts
  • Case sharing from the Retrofitting Hub
Members are encouraged to access the training materials through this online platform to deepen the understanding of latest energy-saving measures.
