Plaza 88 — EV Charging Hub Integrating Shopping Experiences with Low-Carbon Mobility


Located in Tsuen Wan, Plaza 88 is embracing Hong Kong’s low carbon future by providing a fully-integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging station in its basement car park. The facility features a combination of 8 250kW Tesla EV supercharger, 28 11kW Tesla EV medium charger and 4 11kW Cornerstone EV medium charger, together comprising one of the largest EV charging stations in the district.

The provision of this system, a collaboration between the developer of Plaza 88, Billion Development and Project Management Ltd, and EV charger service providers Tesla and Cornerstone, aligns with Hong Kong’s low-carbon policies by expanding EV charging accessibility and promoting sustainable transportation across the city. It directly contributes to this movement by enabling more drivers to choose environmentally friendly vehicles with confidence, supporting the city’s transition to green mobility.

The EV charging station also strengthens Plaza 88’s positioning as a green shopping destination. Visitors can conveniently recharge their vehicles while enjoying retail, dining and leisure experiences, seamlessly integrating sustainable living into their everyday habits. With fast‑charging options, customers can replenish their batteries even during short shopping trips, reducing “range anxiety” and encouraging EV usage.

Managed by Savills Property Management Ltd, Plaza 88 fosters a shopping environment where eco-conscious lifestyle habits become natural and accessible. This not only helps reduce the carbon emissions associated with traditional vehicles but also supports the city’s long-term environmental goals.
