Low Carbon Retail: Strategies for Carbon Reduction
Organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council and funded by the Construction Industry Council, the Hong Kong Green Shop Alliance (HKGSA) is pleased to present three “Capacity Building Workshops” tailored for mall and shop operators. Featuring experienced sustainability experts, the workshops will offer interactive exchanges and in‑depth insights into the latest environmental trends in retail.

This workshop – “Low Carbon Retail: Strategies for Carbon Reduction” provides participants with a foundational understanding of the strategic importance of carbon reduction in retail operations. It discusses the role of green building certifications in driving carbon reductions and introduces carbon audit methodologies, including how to identify and calculate key emission sources across the retail value chain. Through practical case studies, the session explores effective strategies for reducing both operational and value‑chain emissions in retail environments. The programme will also clarify decarbonisation pathways, enabling participants to develop and implement robust carbon management plans that strengthen their brand’s sustainability commitments.
